The Beginning
It all started many years ago. While I was in Chicago. There was a storm that brought down a neighbors tree. It was one of her favorite trees in her yard. It had brought back a lot of memories for the family, and raising her kids. I helped her cut the tree up she told me of the memories she had of the tree. I asked her if I could have some of the wood it was mulberry she replied of course. After months of letting the wood dry I turned a bowl out of the wood, and gave it to her. She was so happy, and amazed that I was able to transform her mulberry tree in to something so beautiful, and useful. She said to me, now I will have some memories with this bowl of that tree that has been a part of this family growing up. I was so happy to be able to give her the memories with that bowl. In that moment I thought of Memorbowlia. While decades have passed since that moment raising a family of my own. I'm still turning enjoying turning fallen trees, firewood, and just about any type of wood. Over the years of trial, and error leaning what works, and what doesn't. I have discovered that the wood while turning shows its own beauty, style, and color. I'm only the facilitator in making memories, and family heirlooms to pass down from generation to generation. I truly enjoy the art of turning, and want to share some of the bowls that I have turned. However I have found myself turning many different pieces over the years. I plan on expanding as time goes on.
